We’re working with artist Yona Lee to create an ambitious new project here at Te Puna o Waiwhetū, something playful and site-responsive just for Ōtautahi – a work that helps visitors see and experience our spaces in a totally new way.

Yona Lee is a Korean artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. She creates sculptures and installations that combine elaborate linear stainless steel tubing with everyday objects. From tabletop pieces to entire museum installations, Yona’s incredible work has been shown around the world and is held in many major institutional collections including Te Papa, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

We’re currently raising funds to help make this happen!

Yona Lee’s – Table Lamp for Christchurch

Table Lamp for Christchurch is a series of twelve playful sculptures made by artist Yona Lee from stainless steel and an electric light-fitting with a lampshade. Each artwork is a unique composition. These sculptures are intended to be displayed in everyday settings – such as on a tabletop, shelf, plinth or other available piece of furniture or indoor architecture.

We have six Table Lamp for Christchurch artworks left for you to purchase.
